WalkPunch and Punchlist Live both turn a narrated jobsite walkthrough into a punch-list draft you review before anyone else sees it. The fork is what happens after that draft: email the trades, or keep the list in a team workspace.
Both tools agree on the hard part
Closeout should not start as a blank spreadsheet. Walk the site, talk naturally, and get a first draft with rooms and evidence. Neither product should publish AI output without your review. If that is the job you need done, either tool is in the right category.
Where WalkPunch is a better fit
WalkPunch is built to classify items by trade, sequence work, and send the list out—PDF or email to subcontractors who do not need an account. If your closeout motion is “walk, approve, fire the emails,” that design is the point. They also publish pricing, including a free plan and a one-walkthrough purchase, which makes it easy to try on a single job.
Where Punchlist Live is a better fit
Punchlist Live is a shared workspace for the people who still have to live with the list after the walk. Assignments, status, comments, and PDF export sit on the same items as the source walkthrough. There is a native iOS app for recording and review in the field. If the superintendent, PM, and owner need one list—not a burst of emails—that is the job we are building for.
Items carry a trade when the walkthrough makes it clear, and you can email any item to a subcontractor as a secure link. They do not need an account to open it, mark it complete, and attach a photo for your approval. What we do not do yet is group the whole list by trade and send each trade its batch in one step. If that bulk send-out is the feature you need most, WalkPunch is the more direct answer. Do not pick Punchlist Live hoping we are a quieter WalkPunch.

How to choose
